April 23, 2024 / Full Moon
Another beautiful full moon graces our lives! There are moments when I remember just how blessed I am to have made it through another 28 days since the last moon cycle. Life can change in a heartbeat and each day is a gift, not a guarantee.
Rather than do a lot of writing here I’m mostly sharing some photos from this past week. Wanting to keep it simple, and rooted in beauty. But a few words first —
Things got off to a rocky start right after the March full moon, as Lucy and I were attacked by a dog during our morning neighborhood walk. We are both okay now, and actually a great deal of goodness came out of that awful event. I’ll likely write more about it at some point. It was a reminder to me that it’s possible to stay open to love and kindness even in the most terrifying of incidents, and that the very act of staying open allows love and kindness to pour through in unexpected ways.
For the past week, I’ve been traveling through Northern California and reconnecting with beloved family, friends, and the beauty of my home state. Spring is in full motion here and it’s gorgeous!
So here’s my photo bouquet for you, in hopes that it brings nourishment and an invitation to connect with all that is blooming in your own life.

How to appreciate a writer…
If you appreciate these offerings and want to support my ability to spend more time writing, here are a few suggestions:
Become a paid subscriber or give a one-time donation. All the writing on this site is freely offered, there are no paywalls here. Paid subscriptions and donations are a meaningful way to support my livelihood as a writer, and are especially helpful this year as I make time to work on my first memoir.
Buy my book, Work That Matters: Create a Livelihood that Reflects Your Core Intention and/or tell others about it.

Thank you — I truly appreciate your support, and so does Lucy the rescue dog!
When I shared your phrase
“Liberation-Based Livelihood” with my choir mate who had been laid off recently, her face lit up.
I purchased 2 copies of Work That Matters: one to keep and one to give.
Good work. Keep it up.
I very much enjoyed this photo-essay, Maia. For the duration of the “special operation” by Putin in Ukraine I’ve followed a woman from Kyiv, on Twitter, who writes of life there. She often declares that she’s in search of beauty on her daily walks. I’m certain she would so appreciate your photos. Thank you for the photos from your home State.
