Maia, the astrological sign Sagittarius, doesn't feature much in my chart. I've been to places in Europe and Asia, and I love Puerto Rico for relaxing on the beach. But I'm not a good traveler. Now that I'm in Hawaii, I may never leave. I've only been to the mainland once in 15 years. I don't get island fever like many others who feel the need to leave at least once a year, often in the summer. But I'm happy to have these travel resources I can pass on to friends.
Love the Atlas Obscura recommendation. I tried both of the other mentioned apps and found they do not match how I go about traveling and journaling. And that is fine. Yet I love exploring weird things and will definitely have a look at Atlas Obscura. And thank you for the wonderful Donahue poem. Take care
Love this post Maia. I just returned from a month long travel in Italy including walking the end of via Francigena in puglia. Loved the way the rhythm of each day naturally allows for continuous present moment experience. I do feel alive in a unique way when traveling ❤️
It’s such a kick. They have several email lists you can sign on to so you can get their editors’ picks, and they’re always fascinating. They also have a podcast. Really, they’re not paying me! I just find the website and app truly excellent.
Thank you so much, Maia. This is so useful!!! I will share with an old French friend who travels extensively now that he is retired. He should enjoy those apps. Even the last one to create your own travel book. Thank you so much. May you have a beautiful springtime! Love, Noelle
Yes, I know, we are not communicating too often these days. So much going on... but you remain a wonderful "friend" in my mind, someone I look up to, and I certainly admire all that you do. Thank you for who you are and for what you do. We need more people like you. And I am glad you had a wonderful trip back to your own roots. I know how important that is...

I like TripIt and use it to organise all my trips short of long, it’s brilliant. Love the poem , thank you 🙏🏻
Maia, thanks for the introduction to these apps. You gave a wonderful description of each. I’ll share them with my husband, he’s the app man.
Maia, these are great apps and I look forward to using them for future trips. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome! Though please note that Atlas Obscura is a really great website, not just an app — you might enjoy checking it out too.
Oh, thanks for that reminder, Maia. I will.

Nice, Maia! I've seen the Atlas Obscura book; can't wait to check out their website!

I’ll click on it now and see what they have to say about Cape Cod!
Yeah, that's the thing -- it's not just for exotic places, I've discovered interesting spots in New Mexico that I had never heard of. Have fun!
